JONATHAN SEXTON

FOUNDATION DAY MEDALIST

In recognition of his outstanding achievements both in provincial and national rugby, Jonathan Sexton has been chosen as the recipient of the 2014 UCD Foundation Day Medal, the youngest ever awardee. Jonathan made 110 appearances for Leinster between 2006 and 2013 scoring 1,015 points for the province. While at Leinster he won three European Cups, two Pro12 titles and a Challenge Cup. He joined Racing Metro 92 at the start of the 2013/14 season and currently plays for them in Paris. He is returning to Leinster for the 2015/2016 season.

Jonathan made his Ireland debut in the 41-6 victory over Fiji in November 2009. He went on to score all 15 of Ireland’s points in their victory over South Africa in their next match. Jonathan played in all five games of Ireland’s 2014 RBS 6 Nations Championship winning campaign. He toured with the victorious 2013 British & Irish Lions squad, starting in all three Tests against Australia.
