‘A Dictionary of Hiberno-English’

A Dictionary of Hiberno-English - The Irish Use of English Prof Terence Dolan, is  Emeritus Professor of English, UCD, and formerly Director of the International James Joyce Summer School. A well-known broadcaster and guest lecturer, he publishes and travels extensively, speaking about both Hiberno-English and Old and Middle English Language and Literature and is regarded as the pre-eminent authority on Hiberno-English. His book, A Dictionary of Hiberno-English, has recently been published in revised and expanded format. Prof Terence Dolan is a PhD alumnus of UCD.

Barbara O’Connell, CEO of Acquired Brain Injury Ireland

Barbara O'Connell, CEO of Acquired Brain Injury Ireland has been named the Newstalk Women Mean Business Social Entrepreneur of the Year 2012.  The award honours Barbara for her work in founding Acquired Brain Injury Ireland and being a leading advocate for those with a brain injury and their families. Barbara graduated from UCD Smurfit School of Business in 2000 with an MBA (Health Services Management). UCD Architects awarded Silver Lion at Venice Biennale

Dublin based Grafton Architects has won the Silver Lion for a promising practice at the 13th International Architecture Exhibition at la biennale di Venezia. Directors of Grafton Architects, Yvonne Farrell & Shelley McNamara, are both graduates of UCD School of Architecture. Grafton Architects were chosen by the Director of the Biennale to feature in the exhibition's notable international curator's programme, and are one of four Irish firms at the Venice Architecture Biennale, supported by Culture Ireland. This year's Biennale included the strongest ever representation of Irish architects. Grafton Architects Awards. The 13th International Architecture Exhibition - la Biennale di Venezia opened to the public today and continues until 25 November 2012.
