PATRICK KING
BA German and Italian 1985
lives in Germany and is an air crew Chief Steward. Favourite lecturers: Deirdre O’Grady and Barry Jones. Memories of UCD: Qualifying for a summer scholarship in Italy; taking part in a play called Die Chinesische Mauer (The Great Wall Of China) by Swiss writer Max Frisch. Love on campus: I found my first true love at UCD but was disappointed not long after. My heart was broken for a long time. As the song by Cat Stevens goes: “the first cut is the deepest”. That certainly rang true back then!
SCOTT WOOD
MA History 1988
lives in the US and is retired. Favourite lecturer: Dr Mary Daly. Alumni events attended this year: Irish Immigrant experience at the Tenement Museum in NYC. Memories of UCD: I loved going to UCD Library and the National Library.
