Memories of UCD: If I could go back and do any part of my college time again it would be my final year UCD Volunteers Overseas (UCDVO) adventure in Nicaragua, a once-in-a-lifetime, unforgettable experience for which I will always be grateful. Love on Campus: After ten years, we turned the handshake at the meet and greet for Ad Astra into something more than “just friends”. The same degrees, the same graduate jobs, living on the same small remote island, working in the same office many years later. It turns out we had the same feelings for each other in common too.

Memories of UCD: As an international student, I remember the great support from Irish students and a friendly environment cultivated by the teaching staff. My thesis supervisor Deirdre O’Connor was such a big help, especially when I lost my father. A number of field trips were astonishing and will be a lifetime memory. Love on Campus: I liked a girl named Katrina but never expressed my feelings. So I stayed single!

Memories of UCD: One lecturer who taught us Accounting looked like Korean singer/rapper Psy so people referred to him as such and the nickname stuck. Now I can’t even recall his name. Love on Campus: I had a crush on a guy in my class but did not have the courage to tell him. He is still single, according to classmates!

Memories of UCD: Learning about the role of fairies and Irish mythology in Irish spirituality – I find myself thinking of it down here in rural Co. Cork! I have a particular love of the lake as a place of rest and contemplation and enjoy taking my own children to spend time there when we visit Dublin.
