(MB BCh BAO 1961) lives in Canada where he is Professor of Neurology at the Neurological Institute at McGill University.
With the help of Jet Propulsion Lab in California, he developed a trasmitter and receiver from astronauts’ helmets and adapted this for use in a hospital, now in routine use in neurology departments. Memories of UCD: In 1961, I won a gold medal for medicine and had the highest mark in the BCh exam.

(BSc 1963, MSc 1964) worked in the space and software industries from the 1960s until retirement in 2018. He received the Apollo Individual Achievement Award from Neil Armstrong in 1969 for his work with NASA. His book, Return to the Moon After Apollo coincides with this year’s 50th anniversary of Apollo 11.

Immediate past president of the Council of the Institute of Chemistry of Ireland, she has been attending lectures in Physics and Geology at UCD as an “occasional student”. Memories of UCD: Playing in the second violins in the Music Society orchestra.

(BA 1967) lives in Canada, where he is president of Blackrock Corporate Services. He was recently awarded the Governor General of Canada Sovereign Medal for Volunteers, which recognises those who have made a significant, sustained, unpaid contribution to their community, in Canada or abroad. Memories of UCD: Playing double-bass in the 1969 UCD orchestra performance of Beethoven’s Piano Concerto #3 at Newman House. A memorable experience.
