Alumni Volunteering

Giving Time, Sharing Stories

Despite the challenges presented by Covid-19 this year, UCD was delighted to be able to mobilise the support of over 1,400 volunteers. We are very grateful to our alumni mentors, buddies, advisory group members, speakers, and media contributors who have volunteered their time this year.

Now in its sixth year, the Career Mentoring Programme moved to an online student-led matching process via the ever-expanding UCD Alumni Network. Following this, the student mentees and alumni mentors met for the first time at a launch event in February 2020.

The UCD Alumni Buddy Programme successfully brought together local alumni and incoming international students for a third year. We are delighted to be able to provide firsthand advice to those commencing studies at UCD with the support of our new Global Alumni Ambassador volunteer role.

Alumni also contributed great insights as speakers and panellists at Alumni Career Panels including the “What It Takes” Career Building Summer Series, Women in Leadership 2020, UCD “In Conversation” and more. A number of digital campaigns like #UCDTogether, allow unique stories to be shared which helped to connect the UCD community.
