On the occasion of their 25th anniversary, the Choral Scholars of University College Dublin presented the annual Choral Celebration of Christmas in Newman University Church. The programme of festive choral music, led by Artistic Director Desmond Earley, played to an audience of nearly 1,000 alumni, friends and supporters over three evenings.

The programme featured a new setting of Magnum nomen Domini Emmanuel composed for the Choral Scholars and violoncello obligato by Laura Sheils. The programme also contained some seasonal favourites and carols previously recorded for their third album for Signum Classics, Be All Merry (2020), as well as repertory by composers such as Francis Poulenc, Elaine Agnew, Ola Gjeilo, and Tim Stephens. The Choral Scholars were joined by acclaimed artists Martin Johnson (violoncello) and Tristan Russcher (piano).
