In September 2019, UCD welcomed the classes of 1959 and 1969 back to Belfield for their Golden and Diamond reunion celebration. UCD President, Professor Andrew J Deeks, hosted over 350 alumni as they arrived on campus to enjoy reconnecting with classmates after 50 and 60 years. The day began with tours of the campus, giving guests an opportunity to see how Belfield has been transformed in recent years.
Afterwards, it was back to the Conservatory at O’Reilly Hall for a pre-lunch reception and the greeting of old friends. UCD Access Scholar, Sarah Lifely, gave a heart-warming speech about her journey to UCD. Professor Mary Daly MC’d the event, which included a fireside chat with alumni Pat Kenny, Ruairi Quinn, Dan Brown and Helen Dempsey who took a walk down memory lane, sharing stories of their time at UCD.
