UCD Creative Fellow Jessica Traynor is the 2024 recipient of the Field Day Tundish Award for contribution to the arts in Ireland, which was presented to her by Theo Dorgan and Stephen Rea. The award honours people who have made a significant contribution to the arts in Ireland. Traynor is the author of three poetry collections, Liffey Swim, The Quick, and Pit Lullabies. She is the 2023 recipient of the Lawrence O’Shaughnessy Award, and a previous winner of the Hennessy New Writer of the Year Award.
As Group Head of Business Affairs at Element Pictures, Ireland’s most successful independent production company, Mark Byrne gets to share in the glory surrounding the success of the company’s feature film, Poor Things, directed by Yorgos Lanthimos and starring Emma Stone. The film received a host of Oscar and BAFTA nominations and won the Golden Globe for Best Picture alongside four Academy Awards and five BAFTAs. Byrne described attending the Oscars as “a slightly out-of-body experience”.
Pádraic E. Moore has been appointed Artistic Director of Ormston House, a resource centre for cultural workers of all disciplines in Limerick City. A writer, curator, and art historian, Moore holds postgraduate degrees from IADT, Dublin and Konstfack University, Stockholm and has a dynamic curatorial practice, having worked across multiple institutions both national and international. His vision for Ormston House involves developing an ambitious programme that will resonate with local, national, and international audiences alike.
