RUGBY CLUB DINNER
UCD Rugby’s annual dinner was held in O’Reilly Hall in May, with 600 guests celebrating the great success of the Men’s and Women’s Rugby Teams throughout the season. Guest speaker Michael O’Leary was hosted by Club President Willie Burns, his former classmate in Clongowes Wood College.
The Men’s First XV, Under-20s, Junior Firsts and Women’s rugby at UCD RFC all continue to go from strength to strength. UCD RFC is grateful for the continued support of the event sponsor, Cantor Fitzgerald and club sponsor EY. UCD Rugby Club remains in fine form for an exciting 2026-27 campaign!
UCD AND IRISH RUGBY EVENT
In January 2026, UCD Foundation and UCD James Joyce Library hosted a celebration of UCD’s place in the history of Irish rugby and the Library’s role in preserving the sport’s history and rich heritage. It was a wonderful evening featuring engaging anecdotes, insights and lively discussion from expert panelists Feargal O’Rourke, Rob Kearney, Dr Emma Burrows, Professor Paul Rouse, and Bernard Jackman.
