The UCD Alumni Awards proudly celebrate the outstanding achievements of UCD alumni all over the world who are exceptional role models and whose lives and careers inspire us all. With almost 300,000 alumni in 169 countries, the UCD alumni network is active, influential and truly international.
In November 2019, the sixth annual awards ceremony took place in O’Reilly Hall. It was a night of celebration and a true showcase of UCD’s outstanding alumni. UCD President, Professor Andrew J Deeks, was joined by over 390 alumni, supporters, faculty, staff and friends
of UCD to honour the achievements of nine alumni. Nominated by peers, faculty, staff and students of UCD, the awardees demonstrate drive, leadership, commitment and the desire to make a difference. The evening was hosted by Pat Kenny (BE 1969), who conducted an “In Conversation” with Simon O’Connor, Director, Museum of Literature Ireland (MoLI), and author Anne Enright, the first Professor of Fiction in UCD School of English, Drama and Film, to discuss the inspirational MoLI.
The formal Awards presentation concluded with a rousing performance from the Choral Scholars of University College Dublin and the evening closed with Jazz Soc’s after-dinner entertainment. Thank you to our corporate partners and sponsors; Microsoft, PwC, Intel, KPMG, AIB, Accenture, Eversheds Sutherland, Bank of Ireland and RKD for supporting the UCD Alumni Awards.
