Under the Artistic Director, Dr Desmond Earley, the Choral Scholars of University College Dublin performed a programme of festive choral music titled “Be All Merry” over three nights at Newman University Church.
The programme featured new Christmas music composed for the group by Ivo Antognini and Eoghan Desmond, as well as choral pieces by Howells, Buchenberg and Culloten. Eriks Esenvald’s setting of the James Joyce text “My Love is in a Light Attire”, written for the choir’s 20th-anniversary celebrations, was also performed. The singers were joined by
acclaimed artists Lynda O’Connor on violin, Ailbhe McDonagh on cello and Tristan Russcher on piano.
