At the annual Student Sport Ireland networking event in May, UCD Sailing Club was awarded Event of the Year for organising this year’s Sailing Intervarsities. The is followed on from receiving the Event of the Year award at the UCD Sport Awards a week earlier. Due to the UCD Sailing Club committee’s dedication, hard work and creativity resulting in finding a solution to many issues that arose, this event model has since been emulated by other universities and will act as a framework for future events.
