The 2024 Colours Boat Races took place on the River Liffey from O’Connell Bridge to St James’ Gate in late March. Both the Men’s and Ladies Boat Clubs enjoyed success at this year’s event.
Notably, UCD retained both Senior titles with the Senior 8+ UCD Ladies Boat Club crew retaining the Corcoran Cup. The crew was made up of N. Campbell, J. Farrell, N. Allison, T. Phelan, D. O’Brien, L. Roche, A. Daly, S. Daly; cox L. Ryan. The UCD Men’s Boat Club Senior 8+ crew retained the Gannon Cup. The winning crew were D. Crooks, S. Daly, A. Carroll, C. Conway, P. Flood, R. Mason, E. McGrath, D. Murray; cox R. Nelson. The UCD Ladies Novice crew won the Sally Moorhead Trophy, with the winning crew made up of O. O’Sullivan, K. Gibney, L. Dwan, C. Quinn, E. McCann, G. Dowling, P. Grimes, E. Fitzpatrick; cox N. Farrell. The Men’s Trinity Novice crew proved to be stronger than UCD’s on the day but, based on the talent on show, the future looks bright for UCD rowing.
