In November 2019, London-based alumni gathered at BP headquarters in St James’ Square to hear the newly appointed CEO of BP and UCD Engineering alumnus, Bernard Looney, host a panel discussion on “Advancing the Energy Transition”. Bernard was joined by his colleague and BP chief-of-staff, Dominic Emery, UCD Dean of Engineering, Professor Aoife Ahern, Dr Eoin Syron, UCD Energy Institute and Orla Gallagher, UCD Foundation Director of Development. It was a fantastic evening – Bernard spoke eloquently about the importance of empathy both in professional and personal life.
