Due to reduced staff numbers on site, the introduction of various new services to offset the challenges posed by COVID-19, and the significant reduction in capacity of library facilities due to social distancing, we are not in a position to admit alumni or external readers at this time. As circumstances improve, and at such time that the Dublin area returns to Level 1 of the government’s emergency response framework, we will reevaluate this constraint with a view toward broadening access.
When you graduated from UCD, you became part of our global alumni community. You have a lifelong link to our University and can avail of all the advantages and opportunities that this brings, including regular events and reunions on campus.
For an annual fee of just €30.00 you can enjoy access to all of UCD’s Libraries while on campus.
Library Access runs from 1st October to 30th September each year.
To be eligible to apply for Library Access, you must have completed at least one year at UCD at either undergraduate or graduate level.
* In keeping with other University services, Library access will be issued via a Campus UCARD. The UCARD can be renewed each year by updating the card rather than issuing a new one. The UCARD carries a photograph for identification purposes.
Important Note 1: Your UCARD will be activated for Library access within 1 hour of joining, once approval is granted from the Library.
Important Note 2: You will need to clear any outstanding library loans you have with the Library prior to joining – contact the Library directly on this matter at client.services@ucd.ie. Or if you have any outstanding College fees, please contact the UCD Student Desk.
