UCD Alumni Awards – Celebrating Our Exceptional Alumni<\/h1>\n

[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text]On Friday 13 November, 400 of UCD\u2019s most distinguished graduates, friends and staff gathered to recognise and celebrate 15 outstanding alumni awardees at this year\u2019s UCD Alumni Awards in O\u2019Reilly Hall.<\/p>\n

Awards were presented to the following alumni:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mr Tom Tynan \u2013 Agriculture and Food Science; Ms Yvonne Farrell and Ms Shelley McNamara \u2013 Architecture; Dr Jim Sheridan \u2013 Arts; N\u00f3ir\u00edn O\u2019Sullivan \u2013 Business; Dr Dave Burke \u2013 Engineering; Ms Orlaith Blaney \u2013 Social Science; Ms Miriam O\u2019Callaghan \u2013 Law; Professor Patrick Bradley \u2013 Medicine; Ms Virginia Pye \u2013 Nursing, Midwifery and Health Systems; Ms Rena Buckley \u2013 Physiotherapy; Dr Tony Holohan \u2013 Public Health; Fr Peter McVerry \u2013 Science; Mr Dermot Weld \u2013 Veterinary Medicine<\/p>\n

In keeping with tradition, the President of UCD, Professor Andrew Deeks awarded the Foundation Day Medal to a graduate who achieved international acclaim. The medal was presented to Dr Catherine Day and her citation was delivered by Dr Peter Sutherland. The awardees are all leaders in their chosen fields and are exceptional role models.
